Single-player Final Fantasy 14

According to Fantasy 14 director and producer Naoki ‘Yoshi-P’ Yoshida, Square Enix has thought about making a single-player game set in the same world.

Yoshida made the remarks during a press event. He was asked about the possibility of creating a different type of game that would be single-player that potentially follows side characters or a different period of time.

Starting today, Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy music can be played on Spotify.

Nintendo said that the music is being offered in celebration of Mario’s 40th anniversary. Between the two games, you can listen to 130 tracks, coming in at about five hours.

The recent accidental reveals from the The Legend of Zelda movie’s stunt team and cinematographer continue to spark major discussion among fans. After what appeared to be leaked artwork of Link alongside the film’s logo, fans have now turned their attention to another image that surfaced during the production reveals, featuring three characters.

Nearly three decades after the release of Diddy Kong Racing, a new unused character from the game has been shown – a kangaroo known as Roo.

Kevin Bayliss, who worked on the N64 title as an artist, shared a look at Roo on social media. Later in development, Pipsy took her spot on the roster.

According to Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto, a Yoshi movie was very much under consideration at one point.

You may recall that in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, a few Yoshis do appear – but only extremely briefly. There was also a post credits scene hinting at Yoshi getting a more prominent role in the future.

Now speaking with Famitsu, Miyamoto revealed that before settling on The Super Mario Galaxy Movie a Yoshi film was considered at one point. The proposal was focused on the character “entangled in various escapades across New York City”.

According to a report from Game File, a pair of gamers have filed a class action lawsuit against Nintendo. This will represent everyone in the U.S. who purchased products impacted by a price increase between February 1, 2025 and February 24, 2026.

Gregory Hoffert and Prashant Sharan say they bought Nintendo products that saw a price increase because of tariffs. As stated by Game File, they’re now claiming that the company “will be unjustly enriching itself with any refund it secures from the U.S. government over widespread tariffs last year that, among other things, hiked the prices of Nintendo hardware and accessories.”

The lawsuit states:

Without diving into spoilers, The Super Mario Galaxy delves more into Princess Peach as a character and her backstory. According to Shigeru Miyamoto, this is something Nintendo will look to adhere to moving forward.

Nintendo Dream recently mentioned to Miyamoto that Peach has been expanded upon in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. He was asked if what’s shown can be considered canon.

Miyamoto said in response:

Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of Mario, has shared a few comments about negative reviews The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has received.

Just like the previous films, this one didn’t have the best critical reception. Right now The Super Mario Galaxy Movie sits at a 43 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. However, it’s worth noting that the fan reception is much higher at 89 percent.

A recently discovered storyboard for The Super Mario Bros. Movie has revealed that the film could have featured even more character appearances than it ultimately did.

Splatoon Raiders amiibo

Today, Nintendo shared the news that it will release new amiibo for Splatoon Raiders. They’re launching alongside the game on July 23, 2026.

Three figures are currently planned. Shiver, Big Man, and Frye will be getting amiibo with new designs. Details about in-game functionality will be shared later. Note that they will be sold in a single set in Europe whereas North America they will be available individually.
