A port of Final Fantasy XIV for Nintendo Switch 2 was announced just yesterday during a keynote at the Anaheim Fan Festival. Afterwards the director of the game Naoki Yoshida, also known as Yoshi-P, held a press conference mentioning the game’s performance on Nintendo Switch 2.
Yoshi-P states that the biggest hits to frame rate are in certain areas like towns, since they tend to be crowded with players. He does go on to state that they are still able to achieve a stable 30 frames per second, and therefore players shouldn’t be too concerned. He also speaks about how much he enjoys the Nintendo Switch 2 for its versatility.

Posted on 9 months ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch 2 | 0 comments
Could we see Final Fantasy 14 on Nintendo Switch 2 one day? Producer Naoki ‘Yoshi-P’ Yoshida has indicated that Square Enix is in talks with Nintendo, and it sounds like things are going well so far.
He said in the interview with VGC when asked about potentially getting Final Fantasy 14 on Nintendo Switch 2:
“For me, it’s just my aim to provide Final Fantasy 14 and 16 to as many players as possible, and I hope that as many players as possible will be able to enjoy those two games. We are putting in our best efforts to ensure that this happens, so it’s fine to convey to your readership that I consider the possibilities very positively, and we are putting in our best efforts, so I hope players will look forward to possibilities in the future. But I just ask for a little bit more time.”

Square Enix still talking with Nintendo about putting Final Fantasy XIV on Switch
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
Over the past couple of years, we’ve repeatedly heard from Final Fantasy XIV director Naoki Yoshida about wanting to have the MMORPG on more platforms, including Switch. The only barrier brought up in the past relates to cross-platform play. Nintendo and Microsoft fully support the feature, and Sony is starting to get on board as well. That means a Switch version is even more likely to happen now.
Speaking with GameSpot, Yoshida confirmed that Square Enix is still talking with Nintendo as well as other companies and are currently “in negotiations”. He said:
Final Fantasy XIV director says discussions are still “ongoing” with Nintendo for a Switch version

Square Enix has said on numerous occasions that Final Fantasy XIV could be a possibility for Switch. This has been discussed even when the system was known as NX. Our last update was in November of last year, when director / producer Naoki Yoshida said that he wants the MMORPG on as many platforms as possible.
Since then, nothing has changed. Yoshida again told VGR that he and the rest of his team want “as many to play as possible.” Discussions are also still taking place with Nintendo to see if Final Fantasy XIV can come to Switch and Xbox One with cross-play with the PC and PS4 versions. Yoshida added he “hopes to announce something as soon as we can.”
Final Fantasy XIV director still interested in a Switch version, “positive discussions” taking place

The possibility of Final Fantasy XIV on Switch is something we’ve heard about for awhile now. Director Naoki Yoshida first mentioned the interest there back in 2015 when Nintendo’s console was still known as NX. He’s reiterated that interest a few different times throughout 2017.
Fortunately, nothing has changed. Yoshida still wants to make Final Fantasy XIV happen on Switch since they want to reach as many people as possible, and apparently “positive discussions” are taking place. The only requirement he has is for everyone to play in the same world.

Final Fantasy XIV possibly coming to Switch is something that producer Naoki Yoshida has commented on fairly regularly. We’ve heard him weigh in on things as early as August 2015, back when Nintendo’s console was known as NX.
Kotaku once again asked Yoshida about Final Fantasy XIV on Switch in a recent interview. He unsurprisingly said that he’s still very much open the idea. However, he also stressed the importance of having cross-play.
Yoshida’s latest comments are as follows:
