Possessor(s) launch trailer – Hyper Light Drifter dev’s latest game on Nintendo Switch 2

Possessor(s) just made its way to Nintendo Switch 2, and we’ve got the launch trailer. The fast-paced side-scroller comes from Heart Machine, the same developer as Hyper Light Drifter and Solar Ash.

Set in the sprawling ruins of Sanzu City, Possessor(s) follows Luca, a highschooler whose life is shattered by an interdimensional catastrophe. Gravely injured, she forms an uneasy pact with Rhem, a powerful demon in need of a host. Together, they’ll fight to survive, uncover the truth behind the disaster and confront the horrors lurking within the city’s fractured heart.

Blending the precision combat of platform fighters with the exploration of Metroidvanias, Possessor(s) delivers stylish, combo-driven action and deep traversal mechanics across a richly detailed, interconnected world. Players will explore devastated skyscrapers, flooded aquariums and other haunting environments, all beautifully realized with hand-drawn characters over striking 3D backdrops.
