[Let’s Talk] How long have you been subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online?
We have another simple question for you this week: How long have you been subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online?
The service started in 2018, a little more than a year after the original Nintendo Switch launched. PlayStation and Xbox had long had their own subscriptions, and this was the Big N’s turn to come up with something similar.
Initially, Nintendo Switch Online was somewhat limited. While you can access a ton of classic games now, initially there were just NES games to choose from. Since then the service has expanded to the SNES, N64, GameCube, Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, Virtual Boy, and SEGA Genesis.
There are a number of other perks to Nintendo Switch Online as well. Obviously, online play is important here. Other features include cloud saves, access to Nintendo Music and GameChat, certain DLC being made available at no extra cost, and more.
If you joined Nintendo Switch Online, how long have you been a member. If you’re not, what’s holding you back? Let us know in the comments.
Highlights from last week’s topic: Your longest gaming session

Back when I was a teenager I beat mgs4 in 1 sitting while I was pet sitting for my friend’s parents. I wanna say that was like 15 hours or so. Low key may have contributed to his ps3 dying a few months later

Back in college I started playing Baten Kaitos Origins around 8 PM, and stoped at 4 AM. Only stoped because my roomate’s ceeiling fan caught fire.
Shatterjack
I’ve never really played for a crazy amount of time in one sitting but two games spring to mind where I was unaware of how much time had passed. I was playing splitscreen Minecraft with my friends one morning and when I looked up I was surprised to see that it was dark outside and they said “dude, it’s like 8pm”. I thought it had been an hour or 2 at the most lol. The other game was nazi zombies, which my friend and I would usually start playing at about 8pm and often I was surprised to see, when we retired for the night, that it was about 4am.

I’ve always gotten up to use the eat, use the restroom, take a shower, go for a walk, etc. during session, so probably no more than 3 hours at a time. As an adult, I am usually getting up once an hour to toss laundry over etc. while playing.
I can easily spend most of the total waking hours of a weekend day playing a new game if I get caught up in it, but I’m not like… neglecting my wellbeing to do so

I got arkham asylum and started it like 9pm. I stayed up all night getting to Buff Joker because it was so good. Then I woke up and beat the game ten minutes later. Forrest said it was a rental and he was right, but I had spent like $8 used on it at Hastings.
More recently I played Marvel Rivals like 14 hours on Friday but that’s much sadder.

When I was a kid, I got an pirate Super Metroid cartridge that didn’t save, I remember playing the whole day to try to get to the end, but my mom made me turn off the system at the end (I finished Ridley so I just needed it to get to Mother Brain) I saved on the hope of that maybe that time it would work so I could finish the game, but my hopes were in vain. The next day were all gone T_T.

When:”The Last Story” were new I spent an Entire Weekend beating it. Think I only slept 10-Hours Totals. Hmmm same for Pokémons Y. If they dun count then I spent almost 24-Hours Playing Pokémons Scurvy and then again when AreaZero: Hidden Treasures hit.

My family would hate me and steal my stuff if they EVER caught me attempting such a session!
