May 6: We’re now just one month away from celebrating the first anniversary of the Nintendo Switch 2, and while the system has seen plenty of major releases worth celebrating, one notable app is still missing from the platform. That absence has raised some questions: notably, why isn’t YouTube available on the new hardware yet? For now, though, it seems a workaround has been discovered.
According to Nintendo, Takashi Tezuka is retiring from his role as an executive officer. This little piece of news snuck in as part of the company’s financial results that were published today.
Right now it’s unclear what Tezuka’s role is going forward. Tezuka won’t be an executive officer, but we can’t say for sure if he’s retiring from Nintendo entirely.
The latest Nintendo release schedule has now gone live as part of the company’s May 2026 financial report.
Splatoon Raiders and Rhythm Heaven Groove have been updated to include their recently-announced release dates. Star Fox, which was just announced a couple of days ago, is here as well.
The only remaining question right now is Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave – but it’s still coming this year. Nintendo’s second half of 2026 is also largely a mystery, but a Nintendo Direct or news from Nintendo Today could give us a better idea as to what’s planned. As always, we’ll keep you updated on what’s to come.
