Nintendo has just revealed Star Fox for Switch 2
Nintendo is releasing Star Fox on Switch 2, the company just announced. The game will be out on June 25, 2026.
News about the game just dropped in a brand new Star Fox Direct. Directs are typically announced ahead of time, but this event came out of nowhere.
Nintendo is revising the N64 game once again with a remake. The visuals have been overhauled and the characters have been redesigned. There’ll be new cutscenes as well, including never-before-scene mission briefings between stages.
Three difficultly modes are planned. Also included is a Challenge Mode in which players can take on stages they’ve already cleared, now with new objectives (and its own Normal and Expert difficulty). On top of that, Battle Mode features four vs. four dog fights.
Mouse targeting is in, allowing players to use the Joy-Con 2 as a mouse. You can also share one of these controllers to have one person taking the role of Pilot with the other taking the role of Gunner. Speaking of controls, the Nintendo Switch Online N64 controller will be supported.
