2026 World Video Game Hall of Fame winners

2026 winners for The Strong’s World Video Game Hall of Fame were revealed today.

This time around, there aren’t any Nintendo-made titles. However, there are games that have ties to Nintendo platforms. The lineup includes Angry Birds, Dragon Quest, FIFA International Soccer, and Silent Hill. Frogger, Galaga, League of Legends, Mega Man, PaRappa the Rapper, RuneScape, Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, and Tokimeki Memorial were a part of the original finalists.

The World Video Game Hall of Fame says it recognizes games based on the following: “icon-status, the game is widely recognized and remembered; longevity, the game is more than a passing fad and has enjoyed popularity over time; geographical reach, the game meets the above criteria across international boundaries; and influence, the game has exerted significant influence on the design and development of other games, on other forms of entertainment, or on popular culture and society in general.”

Winners for the 2026 class were just announced during an onsite ceremony in the World Video Game Hall of Fame’s new home – part of the ESL Digital Worlds exhibits at The Strong

Which of these games do you feel deserved to be inducted? Let us know in the comments.
