As fun as it is to watch Harrison Ford hunt down ancient relics in the old Indiana Jones films, it’s really Indy’s video games that are the relics these days. It’s been a long time since we’ve had a good one, and after playing the incredibly middling Staff of Kings back in 2009, I feared we’d probably never get another. For many years, we didn’t, until in 2024 when Swedish studio MachineGames released a bold new type of Indiana Jones game: one that’s played almost entirely in first-person. Now, that experience has landed on the Nintendo Switch 2, promising a globetrotting immersive adventure that puts players in the archaeologist’s well-worn shoes – and, somehow, on a portable console to boot.

Digital Foundry has provided its technical analysis of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on Nintendo Switch 2, which goes over the game’s frame rate, resolution, and more in detail.

Overall, MachineGames has produced what looks to be a solid port. The game even retains ray tracing and other graphical features present in other versions.

Here’s the full roundup of tidbits:

Alongside today’s launch, a new comparison video has come in for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series S, and PS5 Pro.

In terms of resolution, Nintendo Switch 2 has the edge over Xbox Series S. The use of DLSS boosts the resolution on Nintendo’s console, offering a sharper image.

The full rundown is as follows:

The next big Nintendo Switch 2 port is about to arrive with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. With the release fast approaching, we caught up with creative director Axel Torvenius at MachineGames to talk about the game in a bit more depth.

The Nintendo Switch 2 version, as you would expect, was a big talking point with our conversation covering tech specs and fitting the game onto a cartridge. We also spoke about how the game originally came about and the decision to go with a first-person perspective.

With Indiana Jones and the Great Circle launching on Nintendo Switch 2 in just a couple of weeks, we now have confirmed tech specs for this version with details available for frame rate, resolution, and DLSS usage. Axel Torvenius, creative director at MachineGames, provided the information in an interview with Nintendo Everything.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will have a resolution of 1080p in docked mode and 720p in handheld mode. We’ve also been told that a dynamic native resolution is used. Although the game runs at full resolution for much of the experience, when it drops to maintain frame rate, DLSS is implemented. DLSS essentially ensures the stable 1080p / 720p resolution.

The first pure gameplay for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 version of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is now available.

A new 15-minute video has surfaced with the footage. It looks like the gameplay here is taken from an early portion of the title. Although we did get a trailer previously, this is our first extended, uninterrupted look at the port.

The strongest evidence yet of Starfield coming to Nintendo Switch 2 has come to light following a new rating discovery.

Over in Taiwan, a new entry was just added for the game on Nintendo’s console. The classification doesn’t include any notable information outside of that and it’s unclear when the port would release.

Minecraft Dungeons 2 is in development for Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch, Xbox Game Studios, Mojang Studios, and Double Eleven just revealed. The game is coming out in Fall 2026.

This follows the previous game that hit Nintendo Switch in 2021. Apparently the sequel has been in development for quite some time as it’ll be five years between titles.
