Best Nintendo Switch games for kids

Today, we’re sharing out list of the best Nintendo Switch games for kids. Nintendo titles in particular have just about always been friendly for all ages, which also means a big portion of the system’s library is also accessible for gamers starting out.

Below are a few games that would be perfect for anyone looking to get into video games for the first time. We’re mostly sticking with Nintendo, but we’ll also throw in a couple of extras.

Things were a bit quiet on the Nintendo front last week and this week due to holidays in Japan, but that changed very quickly towards the end of Wednesday. Out of nowhere, the company announced and immediately broadcasted a Star Fox Direct, which revealed a remake of Star Fox 64 for Nintendo Switch 2. The title is coming very soon with its launch planned for June 25, 2026.

As a remake, the graphics have been fully redone as you’d expect. Nintendo is throwing in some new elements, including a new 4-vs-4 multiplayer Battle Mode, new detailed cutscenes, and more. You can find all of the details here.

Based on what we’ve seen so far, how are you feeling about the game? Do you plan on picking up Star Fox when it launches on Nintendo Switch 2 next month? Let us know in the comments.

March was a pretty big month for new Nintendo Switch 2 releases, and that included a port of Kena: Bridge of Spirits. This was the first time that the action adventure game was made available on a Nintendo system.

We were recently given the opportunity to speak with Josh Grier, chief operating officer at Ember Lab, to learn more about what it was like bringing the title over to Nintendo Switch 2. Grier touched on the technical process as well as other topics like the game’s frame rate, the possibility of a physical release, and more.

Our full discussion can be found below.

Pokemon Champions missing feature

At the time of writing, Pokemon Champions is missing a whole bunch of features – it’s missing many Pokemon, a lot of items that are popular in competitive play, as well as extensive customization options for your trainer. Of course, none of that is really worth complaining about right now, because it’s clear that all of these features will be added to the game over time. On that note, all we have to do is wait! But with that being said, there’s one key feature missing from Pokemon Champions that isn’t actually guaranteed to make it in: the ability to battle other players in Singles with a full team of 6 Pokemon per trainer.

How to get into Earthbound in 2026

By now, it’s no secret that EarthBound is one of the greatest JRPG series of all time. It’s also no secret that if you don’t live in Japan, there’s no legal way to play the third game in a language you can read. You might’ve seen Ness in Super Smash Bros. or something similar, and want to get into the EarthBound series for the first time. So how do you do that? Well, the intended order of the series is EarthBound Beginnings, EarthBound, and then Mother 3, and players who have Nintendo Switch Online can access the first two games no problem. But we actually don’t recommend playing EarthBound Beginnings first – here’s everything you need to know about the best order to play the games in.

A new month started up yesterday. Now that we’re in May, we want to know what you’ve been playing.

Have you been keeping busy with Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream? How about other new games like Pragmata and Mouse: P.I. For Hire? No matter the case, let us know in the comments below.

The next big Nintendo Switch 2 port is about to arrive with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. With the release fast approaching, we caught up with creative director Axel Torvenius at MachineGames to talk about the game in a bit more depth.

The Nintendo Switch 2 version, as you would expect, was a big talking point with our conversation covering tech specs and fitting the game onto a cartridge. We also spoke about how the game originally came about and the decision to go with a first-person perspective.

Today, we’ve listed off five weak Pokemon that deserve some time in the spotlight with a new evolution. It’s possible we could see a Paldea Pokemon receive its own evolution, but for the sake of the list, we’ve kept it limited to Pokemon that have been around for more than a single generation.

Now that Pokemon Winds and Waves have been revealed, it’s time for the fun part: speculating! Pokemon Scarlet and Violet introduced a whole bunch of new evolutions for old Pokemon, so it’s safe to assume Pokemon Winds and Waves will do the same.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 Rosalina storybook explained

In a bit of a random move from Nintendo, Super Mario Galaxy 2 received an update on Switch and Switch 2 this week that added an all-new epilogue chapter to the storybook. Many were afraid that it would tie into The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and its new story additions, but that doesn’t seem to be the case here. So today, we’re going over our interpretation of what this epilogue might mean. We’ll be covering full spoilers for Super Mario Galaxy 2, so keep that in mind before you continue!

We have another simple question for you this week: How long have you been subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online?

The service started in 2018, a little more than a year after the original Nintendo Switch launched. PlayStation and Xbox had long had their own subscriptions, and this was the Big N’s turn to come up with something similar.
