Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters shares Nintendo Switch release date, story trailer
Bandai Namco just provided the latest on Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters, confirming the release date on Nintendo Switch 2 and offering up a new story trailer. The company is putting the game out on August 28, 2026.
Those who pre-order will receive the 2026 Japan National Team & World Youth Jersey Set, immediate access to the playable Brazil Youth team, and immediate access to two playable background music tracks “Moete Hero – World Fighters Ver.” and “Moete Hero – Youth Ver.”
Two different editions are also planned. These are as follows:

Captain Tsubasa originally released in 2020, so we’re finally getting the sequel six years later. The project was announced during a Nintendo Direct earlier this year with a 2026 launch window.

We’re not sure why Nintendo Switch isn’t included at the end of the trailer here. That said, it is present in the Japanese version of the video. If we hear anything indicating a different release date, we’ll let you know.
