The upcoming Nintendo Switch game Pickmos has been hit with a good amount of controversy since its reveal. For one thing, a number of its creature designs were very close to ones you’d see in Pokemon. Even worse, there were accusations that some monsters in Pickmos were based on fan-made designs.

All of the controversy led to publisher Networkgo stepping in. The company changed the original Pickmon name to Pickmos and pulled the title’s Steam page on PC. Networkgo wanted to touch up the game to “ensure a controversy-free experience.”

Now that you’re all caught up, Pickmos is back on Steam. Based on initial impressions, it does indeed appear that major changes have been made.

That can be seen with the key art alone. Above is the new version of the art. We also have the original version of the image below.

As you can see, a number of controversial monster designs are gone. This includes one that fans felt was a lot like Pikachu. Also removed are creatures that looked like Lucario, Charizard, and Mega Meganium.

Pickmos is still planned to be on Nintendo Switch in the future. However, its official launch won’t be taking place anytime soon.
