The upcoming Nintendo Switch game Pickmos has been hit with a good amount of controversy since its reveal. For one thing, a number of its creature designs were very close to ones you’d see in Pokemon. Even worse, there were accusations that some monsters in Pickmos were based on fan-made designs.

All of the controversy led to publisher Networkgo stepping in. The company changed the original Pickmon name to Pickmos and pulled the title’s Steam page on PC. Networkgo wanted to touch up the game to “ensure a controversy-free experience.”

Pickmos name change

The team behind Pickmon has announced that the game is changing its name.

In March, Networkgo and PocketGame announced the new project for Nintendo Switch. It became immediately apparent that Pokemon and Palworld were key inspirations.

Pickmon

Networkgo and PocketGame have unveiled their new project Pickmon, which is planned for launch on Nintendo Switch. As of now there’s no word on release timing.

Pickmon takes a good amount of inspiration from Pokemon as well as Palworld. In the multiplayer open-world survival crafter, players will fight, farm, and build industrial empires with creatures as they look to take down a shadowy organization’s plot.
