Super Mario Galaxy 2 1.4.0 update out now, patch notes – includes new story in storybook

Nintendo has just put out a new version 1.4.0 update for Super Mario Galaxy 2 on Nintendo Switch (and Switch 2).

The biggest thing here is that a new story is available in the storybook. For the release of this version last year, Nintendo added a storybook to this game for the first time. It focuses on what led to Lubba becoming a spaceship captain. The original Super Mario Galaxy had its own storybook.

• Several issues have been fixed and adjustments made to ensure a smoother gaming experience on both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.
• A new story has been added to the storybook. Once Final Chapter is available in the storybook, you can read the new story by clearing any galaxy and earning a Power Star.

Keep in mind that the software must be updated to version 1.2.0 or later to be played on Nintendo Switch 2.
