Console Archives Toujinmakyouden Hercules no Eikou

Toujinmakyouden Hercules no Eikou is the next release in the Console Archives series, according to Hamster. The game arrives tomorrow, May 21.

Toujinmakyouden Hercules no Eikou initially debuted in 1987. The Data East game is an RPG in which players go on an adventure to take down the Demon King Hades and rescue the goddess Venus.

Arcade Archives Tag Team Wrestling

For its latest Arcade Archives game, Hamster has announced that Tag Team Wrestling is joining the line. It’s heading to Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch tomorrow, May 21.

You have to go all the way back to 1983 for the game’s initial release. Technos Japan was behind the action game.

Console Archives developer Hamster has spoken further about what’s planned going forward, including how many games we could ultimately see.

Satoshi Hamada, the CEO and founder of Hamster Corporation, was talking about Console Archives in a recent Famitsu interview. He mentioned how during the planning stage, the company’s goal was “to reproduce every home console and every game ever”. Hamster had dreams of releasing 800 titles for Arcade Archives, but for Console Archives, “we have an even bigger dream, every game on every console, at least, first, at the planning stage that was our goal.” Also mentioned is that Famicom and PlayStation games are likely to be the priority since “some of the Arcade Archives games use compatible CPUs”.

As announced by Hamster, Master of Monsters: Disciples of Gaia is about to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 via Console Archives. It comes out tomorrow, May 14.

Master of Monsters: Disciples of Gaia was originally released by Toshiba-Emi. The game, which first debuted in 1997, is a war sim title.

Today, it was announced that Mr. Do is joining the Arcade Archives line on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch. The game arrives on May 14.

Mr. Do originally came out in 1982. The action game has players controlling a clown as they go through stages by taking down monsters and collecting cherries.

Arcade Archives Arkanoid

Arkanoid is releasing as the latest Arcade Archives game on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch, it’s been announced. The title drops tomorrow, May 7.

Arkanoid is Namco’s original brick breaker. The goal of the 1986 game is to escape from the dimension of a warped labyrinth and return to the mothership.

Console Archives Mag Max

Hamster confirmed today that Mag Max is next up on the docket for its Console Archives series. The game will be out tomorrow, May 7.

In Magmax, players take control of a transformable mecha to rescue humanity from the domination of an alien computer. Nichibutsu originally released this one in 1986.

Hamster has discussed what fans can expect from the Console Archives series, specifically when it comes to potential support for older Nintendo hardware. 

In a recent Famitsu interview, Hamster chief technology officer Takamitsu Shimomura was asked about the possibility of pre-Famicom Nintendo hardware for Console Archives such as Color TV-Game. In response, he said (as translated by Nintendo Everything):

Hamster is bringing Cyber Commando to the Arcade Archives line on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch, the company has announced. It’s coming out tomorrow, April 30.

Originally, the game released in 1994. This is Namco’s 3D action game that has players controlling a vehicle and taking out enemies.

Console Archives Rohga Armor Force

Rohga: Armor Force is appearing on Nintendo Switch 2 as a new Console Archives game, it’s been announced. The title arrives tomorrow, April 30.

Data East originally put out the game in 1996. The shooter lets players combine different body parts to make their own machine for battle.
