Rumor: New Resident Evil Requiem music found in datamine, Mercenaries could be on the way
One fan claims to have come across new music within the files of Resident Evil Requiem via a datamine, and some believe that the game could be getting a Mercenaries mode next month.
Last month, director Koshi Nakanishi teased a new minigame planned for a future update. Nothing was shared about what exactly Capcom had planned other than a May launch month. However, Mercenaries would certainly fit into that minigame category and the music may also be pointing in that direction.
MasyaSYRKOV shared their findings on social media. A number of different tracks were apparently found, all of which you can listen to in the videos below.
With the first track in particular, you’ll notice that there’s a lot of ticking going on. Fans are taking that as a specific sign that we’ll be seeing Mercenaries in Resident Evil Requiem. For now, however, it’s only speculation. Whatever this music is, there’s a good chance it’ll be used in next month’s minigame.
Mercenaries has long been a staple of the Resident Evil series. In fact, you may recall that there was an entire game on Nintendo 3DS dedicated to it. What Mercenaries typically comes down to is trying to defeat as many enemies as possible before the countdown reaches zero and beating out other players.
Resident Evil Requiem is available on Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide. You can find the full announcement from Nakanishi here which also includes confirmation that expansion DLC is planned.
