Meltmare

Commentout today shared first details about its next project known as Meltmare. The game is now in development for Nintendo Switch 2.

Meltmare is an action adventure game in which you’ll play as a girl looking to escape from a cryptic facility infested with monsters. It’s being made by the same developer as Tokoyo: The Tower of Perpetuity.

Learn more about the game with the following overview:

Meltmare is an action-adventure game developed independently by solo creator saebashi. In it, players assist “Lua” – a mysterious, otherworldly girl on the other side of the screen—as she attempts to escape from a cryptic facility teeming with monsters. The player finds themselves tasked—under somewhat coercive circumstances—with serving as the girl’s guide and bodyguard from a distance. The assignment comes with a peculiar stipulation: the entire ordeal must be broadcast live. Within the confines of the Western-style mansion where the girl is held captive, what truth awaits them? The game features dramatic storytelling and an unpredictable narrative, brought to life through Live2D animation and dynamic desktop-style visuals during dialogue sequences, while combat unfolds as 2D pixel-art action. Furthermore, the entire experience is streamed via a video-sharing platform, allowing players to receive hints from viewers’ comments and use monetary donations to upgrade their equipment.
