From the collaborations with Vans, Uniqlo, and LeSportsac in the fashion world to the recent crossover Mario + Rabbids title to the Super Nintendo World project with Universal Studios, it might be hard to remember a time when Nintendo seemed reserved in terms of joint ventures.
However, in a recent interview with Mashable, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime reasons that the company’s early experiences licensing its properties left a long-lasting, negative impression on many of Nintendo’s developers.

Nintendo kicked off Switch’s launch with a bang thanks to Zelda: Breath of the Wild. If that wasn’t enough, Super Mario Odyssey has arrived just in time for the holidays. These two games have helped made Switch’s first year very special.
Reggie spoke about having Zelda and Mario ready early on for Switch in an interview with TechCrunch. He noted that Nintendo was lucky in terms of the development schedule, with a game like Breath of the Wild being far along in development.

Reggie says Nintendo is working hard to satisfy Switch demand, NES Classic will return “in significant numbers”

Switch stock has been a big issue since the system launched earlier this year. It has undoubtedly improved, but it’s still not quite where it needs to be. In places like Japan, the situation is still very frustrating with continued lotteries just for an opportunity to buy a Switch.
In an interview with The Verge, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime commented on Switch’s supply situation once again. Being unable to meet demand is something he’s not happy with, and he says Nintendo is “working hard to satisfy as much demand as possible.”

Nintendo on learning from Wii U’s mistakes with Switch, listening to fans

Leading up to the launch of Switch, we often heard about how Nintendo was trying to learn from its mistakes during the Wii U era and applying that knowledge for its new console. With the system having been available for several months, Nintendo of America senior product marketing manager Bill Trinen and Nintendo of America senior VP of sales and marketing Doug Bowser reflected on this subject once again.
Trinen fist weighed in on one important aspect Nintendo addressed: the system menu. Whereas Wii U took quite a while to start up and load a game, Switch is lighting fast in comparison.
