Nintendo has made some changes to Mario user icons in latest Switch 2 and Switch update

A little interesting discovery has been made regarding the recent Switch 2 and Switch update, as Nintendo made some changes to a number of Mario icons.
It looks like for the first batch, new renders are being used. The differences can be a bit hard to spot, but they are present.
Here’s a look (version 21.2.0 on the left, version 22.0.0 on the right):

Right now if you purchase two select games, you’ll be given the gift at no extra cost. Consumers have a variety of titles to pick from, including Mario Kart World, Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2, and Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park. Simply add the eligible games to your cart, and the case will be added automatically.

Insider NateTheHate has provided an update on a variety of Nintendo projects, including rumors about Zelda remake, a new Star Fox game, and the lack of a 3D Mario in 2026. This comes from a new podcast published today.
It’s claimed that Star Fox will be making a return on Nintendo Switch 2 this summer. Apparently it’ll be a classic style Star Fox game, and “the visuals are supposed to be very good”. Online multiplayer is apparently in as well. This would make sense given the appearance of Fox McCloud in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch getting new Rosalina controller, plus other Mario products

Turtle Beach has unveiled a plethora of Mario products, including a new Rosalina controller for Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch. This comes ahead of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie’s debut next week.
The Rosalina Turtle Beach Rematch Wireless RGB Gaming Controller has been officially licensed by Nintendo for Switch 2 and Switch. It has dynamic RGB modes, motion controls, premium TMR thumbsticks for drift-free precision, and dual mappable back buttons for faster reactions. There’s also up to 30 feet of wireless range and game longer with a rechargeable battery offering up to 40 hours per charge. As an alternative, fans will also be able to grab the Koopa Troop Rematch Wireless RGB Gaming Controller, which has its own design.

A new reward has arrived on My Nintendo in North America to celebrate the Super Mario Bros. 40th anniversary. Starting today, members can get their hands on a pin set celebrating the event as well as Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2.
You’ll be getting two jumbo collectible pins. They measure 2″ x 2″, for those wondering.

March 5: MAR10 Day is fast approaching, and Nintendo is recognizing Mario’s 40th anniversary with an upcoming sale that will discount a few games on Switch 2 and Switch.
Deals will actually be going live at retailers such as on Amazon here a bit early – specifically March 8, lasting until March 14. There are a handful of titles included, with a few going as low as $30.

August 25: As part of Nintendo’s new “My Mario” campaign, a series of stop motion videos for the well-known character have now been released.
As of now three videos have been published. Each one is about a minute long, focusing on a different scenario. Nintendo previously said that the short length was decided “so that young children can enjoy them.”

Fisher-Price releasing My Mario products, available to order

Nintendo recently announced plans for the expansion of the My Mario line outside of Japan, and we’re now seeing brand new products coming from Fisher-Price. The company is readying a character set, Bowser’s Airship toy, and an adventure playset.
Six figures are planned in total for the figure set: Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Toad, Yoshi and Bowser For Bowser’s Airship, it’s a “push-along toy boat is packed with fun activities designed just right for preschoolers including a cannonball launcher, bat-at spinners, and a trapdoor pipe for drop-through play.” Lastly, with the adventure playset, you’re getting “toddler-friendly activities inspired by the game, plus iconic music and sounds that activate as kids play their way around with Mario.”

Nintendo details plans for My Mario products in North America and Europe

The My Mario previously debuted in Japan last year, but Nintendo has now shared its plans for North America and Europe. We have an official launch date of February 19, 2026 at Nintendo New York and Nintendo San Francisco with retail stores taking part starting this spring and expanding throughout the year.
My Mario is comprised of products, games, and experiences targeted at young children and their parents. They can explore, imagine, and play side-by-side with characters like Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Yoshi.
