Switch 2 handheld mode boost games

Well, it’s finally happened – after writing about it in editorials for almost a year, Nintendo has gone ahead and fixed the Switch 2’s biggest flaw, being that all unpatched Switch 1 software looks blurry in handheld mode. Up until now, Nintendo has addressed the situation by issuing Switch 2 Editions of its games that increase performance. That said, though, this isn’t a solution for every single Nintendo Switch game – some third-party developers that made games no longer exist, for instance, which means some titles will never receive Switch 2 patches. So today, we’re looking at five games that currently don’t have Nintendo Switch 2 patches that benefit from the new Handheld Mode Boost feature.

CD Projekt Red recently published its latest financial results and it includes an interesting look at the platform sales split for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Even in 2025, the Nintendo Switch version was still selling. PC had by far the highest percent of sales at 55 percent, but Nintendo’s console contributed with 10 percent. That’s actually the same percentage as Xbox. Also, it’s not terribly far off from PlayStation’s 25 percent.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection 1.0.5 update

A new version 1.0.5 update was released this week for Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection. If you have the Nintendo Switch 2 or Switch versions, it’s available to download now.

There’s a good amount here including Room Codes, which “give you total control over who joins your online private lobby.” Players can also filter available rooms based on a player’s online connection strength. Also included is versus AI and Fixed AI difficulty for all Genesis, 32X, and SNES versions, expansion of the Kombatants section of The Krypt, performance improvements, and more.

Digital Extremes has published an official graphics comparison video for Warframe on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch.

The game has been on Nintendo’s previous console for a few years now. However, a Nintendo Switch 2 version just released this week. Needless to say, it’s significantly improved on the new system.

Insider NateTheHate has provided an update on a variety of Nintendo projects, including rumors about Zelda remake, a new Star Fox game, and the lack of a 3D Mario in 2026. This comes from a new podcast published today.

It’s claimed that Star Fox will be making a return on Nintendo Switch 2 this summer. Apparently it’ll be a classic style Star Fox game, and “the visuals are supposed to be very good”. Online multiplayer is apparently in as well. This would make sense given the appearance of Fox McCloud in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

Blue Reflection Quartet

Koei Tecmo and Gust are making Blue Reflection Quartet for Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch, the company revealed today. The game’s release date is set for July 30, 2026.

Blue Reflection Quartet combines all four entries in the series into a single package. New features will also be included, alongside graphical updates.

First details on what to expect can be found in the following rundown:

Clive Barker's Hellraiser Revival

Yet another Nintendo Switch 2 game may have leaked by a rating with Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival now popping up.

The title has received an entry in the ESRB database. It has the same classification as the PS5 and Xbox Series versions. At least currently, Saber Interactive hasn’t made any announcements about a Nintendo Switch 2 version.

Super Meat Boy 3D just earned its digital release date yesterday, and Meridiem has now come out with an announcement that the game is getting a physical release on Nintendo Switch 2. Expect to see it on June 30, 2026.

Two different versions are planned. With the standard release, you’ll get the game, a sticker set, and a reversible cover. There’ll also be a special edition which has these same goodies plus a special sleeve, a lenticular postcard, a cloth patch, and an art book.
