Nintendo Today 3.0.0 update

Nintendo Today is back with its latest update, with the app moving up to version 3.0.0.

According to Nintendo, some issues have been fixed. This is one of those instances, however, in which the specifics weren’t provided.

The full notice is as follows:

New details have been released about the storage limits and subscription with Pokemon Champions.

Pokemon Champions, which was first announced last year, is all about battling with your favorite creatures. The title “will feature familiar mechanics such as Pokemon types, Abilities, and moves, creating an environment conducive to rich and varied strategies for new and experienced Trainers alike.”

Pokemon Champions has confirmed its launch timing, which is set for April on Nintendo Switch and the mobile version following this summer. News about the game just dropped during today’s Pokemon Presents event.

Pokemon Champions was actually announced exactly one year ago today. The battle-focused game was known to be coming sometime this year, but beyond that, we didn’t have specific timing.

Catch up on everything you need to know about the title with the following information:

Today, it was announced that the new Nintendo Switch releases of Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen will support Pokemon Home connectivity.

There was previously confusion as to what was happening here. It was technically confirmed when Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen were announced last week, but that news was scrubbed by The Pokemon Company. It seems they were only waiting for the official Pokemon Day announcement.

A new Pokemon Presents has just been announced for Pokemon Day, it will be taking place February 27, 2026. The presentation will begin at 6AM PST/9AM EST.

The Pokemon Company did not say what will be included in the Pokemon Presents event, though we already know that Pokemon FireRed & Pokemon LeafGreen will be releasing digitally on the eShop shortly after the presentation. We should also expect information surrounding the Pokemon franchise’s 30th anniversary.

Nintendo Today 2.4.0 update

A new version 2.4.0 update has now been made available for the Nintendo Today app. This is rolling out now for iOS and Android users.

The update includes a new size to the calendar widget. That’s the big thing here this time around.

Here’s the official notice:

Nintendo has just released an update to their Nintendo Store mobile app, that being version 3.1.0. This update should be available for download now, so keep an eye out.

This update brings with it the ability to see search results within the Nintendo Store app. Previously if you used the search function, it would immediately redirect you to the Nintendo website’s results for your search. Strangely enough, selecting a product from the search results will still redirect you to its respective page on the Nintendo website. The ability to zoom in on product images from their in-app details page has also been added.
