SEGA confirms cancellation of Aliens: Colonial Marines for Wii U

SEGA has finally confirmed what most had expected at this point: Aliens: Colonial Marines has been cancelled for Wii U. A company representative said in a statement:
“SEGA can confirm that the Wii U sku of Aliens: Colonial Marines is no longer in development.”
It is a bit of a shame seeing that Aliens: Colonial Marines is no more on Nintendo’s console when you consider that Demiurge Studios did put in effort in order to make the game. In the end though, Wii U owners won’t be missing much…

Rumor: German retailers getting the word that Aliens: Colonial Marines has been canned on Wii U
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii U | 0 comments
Aliens: Colonial Marines is still missing in action on Wii U. It was supposed to be out before the end of March, yet it’s nowhere to be found. SEGA, Gearbox Software, and Wii U-specific developer Demiurge Studios aren’t talking about the status of the project.
And so, no one would be the least bit surprised if the game was cancelled outright. That may very well be the case here.
German retail sources are apparently saying that they’ve been told about Aliens: Colonial Marines’ non-release for Wii U. In other words, it has supposedly been cancelled. This would apply to Europe if true, but one would think that it would be canned for North America as well.
