Cabernet receiving physical release on Nintendo Switch

Cabernet is getting a physical release on Nintendo Switch, Akupara Games and Party for Introverts announced today. It’ll start to ship in Q3 2026.
Cabernet will have a standard version, which includes a copy of the game and a portrait book. There’ll also be a collector’s edition which has these same items plus a brooch replica, the original soundtrack, art book, vampire cat pin, and a special box.

Ubisoft has more in store for Rayman, according to CEO Yves Guillemot.
Rayman has mostly been absent in recent years. While we’ve seen him here and there – such as in the Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope DLC – the last big new game was Rayman Legends, which released over a decade ago. However, it looks like the franchise is starting to return to the spotlight.

New data from Circana gives us a look at the best-selling games of January 2026 specifically on Nintendo platforms.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A keeps its streak going at the #1 spot. Final Fantasy 7 Remake, a new release, sits right behind it. Also worth noting is that Animal Crossing: New Horizons went from #21 previously to #4 this month.

Circana has released a listing of the top ten best-selling games in the U.S. for the month of January 2026.
There’s not too much to report here as things tend to be slow around the new year. However, it’s worth noting that Final Fantasy 7 Remake moved up to #9, whereas it was previously #225 – that’s thanks to the new Nintendo Switch 2 (and Xbox) version.

SOEDESCO and Nukebox Studios today announced a demo for Food Truck Chef: Full Course Edition. On Nintendo Switch, it’s planned for February 23, 2026.
The demo lets players get a taste of the food truck experience with several different recipes.

Nintendo and The Pokemon Company surprised fans today by revealing that Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen are making a comeback on Switch. During Pokemon Day in just one week, both will be available on the Nintendo eShop.
In an FAQ, it was explained why FireRed and LeafGreen were selected to return instead of Red and Blue. The company explained that it felt fans “will appreciate the ultimate versions of those original adventures, which add various features and upgrades”.

Ultimate Sheep Raccoon 1.3 has come out with a major update in the form of version 1.3.
The patch brings along a brand new character with Skunk, and on top of that, new blocks are available. The team also implemented some smaller features, made some adjustments, and fixed some bugs.

Square Enix’s Naoki Hamaguchi has again commented on game-key cards, and now directly spoke about why we wouldn’t be seeing Final Fantasy 7 Remake on Nintendo Switch 2 if they didn’t exist.
Despite some backlash, many publishers have been bringing out their titles as game-key cards. Final Fantasy 7 Remake was one instance of this, and it’ll be happening again with Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth – and almost certainly the series’ conclusion as well.
