Digital Foundry has provided its technical analysis of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on Nintendo Switch 2, which goes over the game’s frame rate, resolution, and more in detail.

Overall, MachineGames has produced what looks to be a solid port. The game even retains ray tracing and other graphical features present in other versions.

Here’s the full roundup of tidbits:

– Targets 30 FPS instead of 60
– Screen space reflections kept in place for the Switch 2 port
– Contact shadows retained as well
– Ray traced global illumination is intact
– RTGI matches the series S, and in some situations, slightly exceeds it
– Variable rate shading included to help maintain the frame rate, which adaptively compresses portions of detail within a frame
– Unique CPU optimizations included
– The team spent a lot of time looking into compression systems for textures, audio, and save files
– Switch 2 textures match Xbox Series S without the high-quality texture pack installed
– Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has dynamic 540p to 1080p resolution when docked with DLSS
– Portable mode is 360p to 720p with DLSS
– Resolution is better compared to Xbox Series S overall
– Switch 2 is weaker with aliasing
– Engine’s feature set is intact on Switch 2
– Switch 2 shadow quality is a drawback
– This is reduced further in portable mode
– Object quality also dropped on Switch 2
– Switch 2 makes some extra compromises with draw distances such as more aggressive geometry pop-in
– Lower LODs while playing in portable mode
– Indiana Jones and the Great Circle frame rate drops in cutscenes
– When you start engaging with multiple enemies in the Vatican and start sprinting between areas quickly, the frame rate can go down to the mid 20s
