Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream beats out Resident Evil Requiem for best physical launch of 2026 in France

In a recent report shared by French journalist Oscar Lemaire, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is quickly becoming a major success in France. According to the journalist, in an article first published by Eurogamer, the game has become the best-selling physical release in the country, although exact sales figures were not disclosed.

Based on the launch performance of Resident Evil Requiem, which previously held the top spot with over 70,000 copies sold at launch, it is safe to assume that the new Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream has already surpassed that number in France.

Unfortunately, as mentioned above, official sales numbers for Tomodachi Life have not yet been shared. More concrete data should become available once Nintendo releases its official sales information.

One interesting detail highlighted in the article is the cultural context surrounding the market. The difference in popularity between physical and digital games varies depending on the genre. multiplayer shooters, for example, can see digital sales reaching around 90 percent. Even so, it’s no secret that digital purchases continue to claim a larger share of the market each year.

In any case, it’s very interesting to see the game receiving such a positive reception from players, and if you’re still unsure about picking it up, be sure to check out our review to learn more about it!
