Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage review

System: Switch 2
Release date: March 26, 2026
Developer: AM2 and RGG Studio
Publisher: SEGA

Virtua Fighter 5 is back …again! Originally released in Japanese arcades back in July 2006, Virtua Fighter 5 is the most recent title in the legacy SEGA series that helped shape modern 3D fighters. There have been several revisions for arcades and consoles over its 20-year history. Now in 2026, we have another version that is almost unrecognizable from its first home release on the PlayStation 3. Running in RGG’s Dragon Engine, in use since Yakuza 6, Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage has a whole new facelift, UI redesign, improved sound design, battle changes, new costumes, DLC and rollback netcode for online fighting at an optimal level. If Nintendo gamers want their first taste of the magic that made Virtua Fighter 5 a game so good they’ve been releasing it for two decades, the ultimate version of the martial arts masterpiece is here on Switch 2.

Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition

SEGA appears to be working on Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition. Although there’s been no official announcement, a rating for the game has now surfaced in Korea from The Game Rating and Administration Committee.

The rating doesn’t provide any information and technically doesn’t confirm a Nintendo release. However, we’d be surprised if Nintendo Switch 2 wasn’t included in the plans here. Sonic Frontiers was a little rough on the original Nintendo Switch from a technical standpoint, so a Switch 2 version could greatly improve the experience. SEGA could also choose to include new content / features.

Two Point Museum Angry Birds update

SEGA and Two Point Studios are introducing the latest update for Two Point Museum, which is bringing the world of Angry Birds into the game. The patch will be available soon on Nintendo Switch 2.

Technically the game is getting a couple of things here. With the Angry Birds part of the equation, players can access the Angry Birds Digiverse Rift and explore Piggy Island. Additionally, there’s a general spring update with new content and quality-of-life changes.

Here’s the rundown of everything on the way:

Sonic Racing CrossWorlds 1.3.1 update

SEGA just went live with a major version 1.3.1 update for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.

The patch comes with new content, new features, adjustments, and fixes. Highlights include new Gadgets, the “Bonus Ring Frenzy” mode, new music, and new decals.

The full rundown is as follows:

Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Red, Goro Majima (Captain Majima), Arle

SEGA revealed what’s coming to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds today, and we now know that three new characters are in the pipeline: Red, Goro Majima (Captain Majima), and Arle. All three will ship for free.

Red and Goro Majima (Captain Majima) will drop first sometime in April. Following that, Arle will be released in May. Release dates will be provided in the future.

Here’s the full rundown of everything that’s planned:

Yakuza series chief director Ryosuke Horii has spoken about why it’s so important for the Yakuza series to be represented on Nintendo Switch 2.

SEGA has slowly been bringing over the franchise’s different games since the console launched last year. This continued with Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties last month. It was notable since for the first time, the series had a new game launching day and date on a Nintendo system alongside other platforms.

Nikkei xTrend recently asked Horii about Yakuza coming to Nintendo Switch 2. Although he’s unsure if the series will sell well on the console immediately, he believes potential fans could pick up the games down the road and the approach allows SEGA to broaden its reach.

Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Tangle & Whisper

February 24: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds isn’t slowing down on its rollout of content, and we now have the release date for Tangle & Whisper. This will be available for everyone starting tomorrow, February 25, SEGA just announced.

Coinciding with the update is a Tangle & Whisper Festival, which will be held between February 26 and March 1. World Match will not be available while the Festival is going on.

Two Point Museum Zooseum DLC

October 27: SEGA and Two Point Studios today unveiled new DLC for Two Point Museum, dubbed Zooseum. Players can expect to see it this winter.

The DLC features a new museum location dedicated entirely to the wonders of wildlife. You’ll rescue, heal, raise, and re-wild a wide variety of creatures, while expanding your museum in exciting and unexpected ways.

The latest publisher sale is live on the Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch eShops, this time featuring games from SEGA / Atlus. Some games are at new low prices here, including the likes of Sonic Origins and Etrian Odyssey HD.
