Nintendo and Camelot just sent out a new version 1.0.2 update for Mario Tennis Fever.

Many different balance adjustments are available. Aside from making changes to characters, some Fever Rackets have been impacted. There are a few other tidbits to the patch as well.

February 11: To mark the launch of Mario Tennis Fever, new icons for the game have just gone live on Nintendo Switch Online.

As is usually the case, designs are available for characters, backgrounds, and frames. You can claim icons for staples like Mario and Luigi, but also others such as Blooper and Piranha Plant. Characters are 10 Platinum Points each on My Nintendo. Everything else goes for 5 Platinum Points each.

In many ways other than the obvious, Switch 2 has marked a new era of sorts for Nintendo. The Switch generation, while no doubt one of the company’s greatest, had its fair share of flaws – and one of those flaws was its lackluster sports games. Time and time again, we saw Nintendo-published sports outings launch with minimal content, receive free updates for a few months, and then fizzle out and fade from conversation. This issue reached a boiling point with Mario Strikers: Battle League, which had solid core gameplay, but next to no content to speak of. Mario sports have been pretty quiet since then, but now we’ve got another new entry in the Mario Tennis series with Mario Tennis Fever on Nintendo Switch 2. This title promises all sorts of chaotic tennis action, and it most certainly delivers on that promise. But how does it hold up in other areas?

The newest Mario sports game is about to drop with Mario Tennis Fever on Nintendo Switch 2, and with the title only a couple of days out, reviews are starting to come in.

If you’ve played any Mario Tennis game previously, you should know what to expect here. Fever Rackets are the new hook this time around, and each one has a unique ability – such as the Mini Mushroom Racket, which shrinks your opponent to bite size. Also, there are 38 playable characters, including including the debuts of Goomba, Nabbit, Piranha Plant, Baby Wario and Baby Waluigi. Other features include Trial Towers mode, Mix It Up mode, Tournament mode, Swing Mode, and a story mode.

Nintendo has now confirmed the entire Mario Tennis Fever roster, and we have the full list of characters.

When the game was first revealed last year, we heard that this would be the most-packed entry in the series. That applies to elements like the modes, but also the roster. And now thanks to today’s trailer, we know of everyone planned for the title.

Nintendo has come out with a brand new overview trailer for Mario Tennis Fever.

Much of what we see here was initially covered as part of the initial reveal. Various aspects are explored in detail though, including amiibo support. In Mario Tennis Fever.

Bowser Jr., Bowser, Mario, Luigi, Peach, Rosalina, Yoshi, Waluigi, Wario, Toad, Daisy, and Donkey Kong are all compatible figures. Scan one of these amiibo in Mario Tennis Fever to use a tennis ball with the design based on the character.
