Starting today, Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch players can get their hands on a demo for Back to the Dawn. It can be downloaded via the Nintendo eShop.
The prison break RPG is letting fans experience the tale from the beginning of Thomas’s story through the end of the second day in prison, discovering the game’s immersive detail while getting a taste of life in the joint. Progress transfers for the full version.

We’ve received word that Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown is getting a demo on Nintendo Switch 2. The download goes live in early February.
Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown offers a first hands-on look, allowing players to guide Voyager through the Delta Quadrant while making decisions inspired by Captain Janeway’s leadership throughout the Star Trek: Voyager television series. Gameplay includes managing the ship and its crew.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is set to receive a demo on Nintendo Switch 2 in just a couple of days. Nintendo Switch 2 players can grab it on January 22, SEGA has confirmed.
The demo for Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties will let players experience both sides of the package. As of now we’re waiting on further details.

BlazBlue Entropy Effect X demo out on Nintendo Switch

Today, Astrolabe announced that it has issued a demo for BlazBlue Entropy Effect X on Nintendo Switch. A gameplay preview has also come in.
The demo lets players choose from Ragna, Es, and Hibiki with access to the first three levels. However, progress will not carry over to the official release later. Those who try the demo will be eligible to receive an exclusive in-game item after BlazBlue Entropy Effect X launches.

January 5: Square Enix shared the latest news about Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined with the announcement of a demo and the opening movie.
Specifics about the trial haven’t been shared. However, save data will be compatible with the full version on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch. Additionally, those who try it will be given the “Day Off Costume” for Maribel, which can be used in the full game. The demo is due out on January 7, 2026.

Heads up for The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon fans: a demo has just gone live on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch. It can be downloaded from their respective pages on the Nintendo eShop.
NIS America says that this is a story demo, offering the opening of the game. NIS America is also providing a battle demo on PlayStation platforms, but for whatever reason, this seems to be skipping Nintendo systems. On the bright side, progress made in the demo can be transferred to the full release after installing a day one patch.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade getting a Nintendo Switch 2 demo [update: out now]

September 25: According to Square Enix, the company is planning a demo for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade.
That news comes directly from director Naoki Hamaguchi. In a recent interview, he confirmed that a demo is planned for release by the end of the year. Hamaguchi didn’t explain what exactly will be included, but said that for “players who might still be on the fence or unsure about playing, it’d be great for them to experience [the demo] and feel the full specs” of the system.

Nintendo has just released a software update for the Nintendo Switch 2 title Drag x Drive. Version 1.2.0 should be rolling out to players now.
This update brings a new game called survival tag, as well as a couple other adjustments and bug fixes. The Drag x Drive: Global Test Jam has also been renamed to simply Drag x Drive Demo.

Octopath Traveler 0 demo out on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch today, story trailer

Octopath Traveler 0 will be on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch next month, but before that happens, fans can check out a demo for the game. Square Enix says it’s going live today on both platforms.
The demo provides access through the opening of the game, the first chapter of the three different story arcs of the Retribution story and the first chapter of the Restoration story. This ultimately amounts to about three hours of gameplay. Progress carries over to the full game.
