Path of Mystery 2: The Mermaid Legend Murder Case announced for Nintendo Switch 2, and Switch

Imagineer has just announced Path of Mystery 2: The Mermaid Legend Murder Case for Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo Switch. The game is due for a Japanese release in September, with a physical Nintendo Switch version, and a game-key card release for Nintendo Switch 2.

As the long title suggests, Path of Mystery 2: The Mermaid Legend Murder Case is a sequel to 2024’s Path of Mystery: A Brush with Death. Earlier this year we finally received a western release of the first title of the series, so we can expect a localization of the newly announced sequel eventually.

The game is set in Narumisawa, a charming, fictional summer getaway town that feels familiar, as though you have seen it somewhere before…

The story alternates between the present and the past to uncover the truth behind an unsolved case from 30 years ago.

Told through a prologue, 10 episodes, and a mysterious “?” episode, the mysteries deepen with each chapter.

The fully voiced dialogue, brought to life by a talented cast, will make you eager to continue to the next episode. And there are some unexpected names among the voice actors…

Story

The Yamabiki Manor Incident, also known as the “Narumisawa Landscape Painter Murder Case.”

30 years ago, on the grounds of Yamabiki Manor in Narumisawa, the famous painter Mizuryu Uchida was murdered. The body, found by the pond, was in a bizarre state. While the police investigated, the case ultimately closed with the death of the suspect.

Now, 30 years later, a group of unique individuals from the seminar of Ayame Minato, a young expert in criminal psychology, travel to Yamabiki Manor to investigate the case as part of their research. As they dig deeper into the truth of this unsolved mystery, new facts gradually emerge, suspects come into focus, and the hidden emotions behind their positive attitudes are revealed…
