ACA NeoGeo Master of Syougi coming to Nintendo Switch

Hamster has announced that it’s revisiting the ACA NeoGeo series with a new release on Nintendo Switch, with Master of Syougi joining the line. The game comes out tomorrow, April 2.

SNK was behind this shogi game. While it came to Japan in 1995, it never released in the west – until now.

Here’s an official overview:

Master of Syougi is a shogi game released by SNK in 1995. It stands as the only authentic shogi (Japanese chess) title for the NeoGeo system, offering both standard shogi and the simplified “hasami shogi.” With adjustable settings to display beginner guides or play with handicaps (piece drops), the game is designed to be enjoyed by everyone from novices to true masters!

The ACA NeoGeo series has faithfully reproduced many classic Arcade masterpieces. Players can change various game settings such as game difficulty, and also reproduce the atmosphere of arcade display settings at that time. Players can also compete against each other from all over the world with their high scores. Please enjoy the masterpieces that built a generation for video games.
