TetherGeist receives Nintendo Switch release date, new trailer

The final release date is now in for TetherGeist. O. and Co. Games is bringing it over on May 22, 2026, the studio announced today.

TetherGeist, a challenging precision platformer that rewards practice and perseverance, was previously revealed for Nintendo Switch back in February. This is the first time we’ve had any sort of launch window.

For those that missed it the first time around, here’s an overview of the game:

TetherGeist is a wholesome precision platformer about Mae, her spirit companion Bao, and a coming-of-age pilgrimage where growth comes from curiosity, persistence, and self-reliance.

A Platformer About Growth, Not Combat: Every challenge in TetherGeist is overcome through timing, momentum, and careful movement in this combat-free adventure.

Astral Projection as Expressive Mastery: Mae uses Bao to project her spirit, navigating the world in inventive ways. Each chapter adds new movement mechanics to explore with.

Challenging but Supportive Design: Frequent checkpoints and instant retries keep the experience forgiving, encouraging experimentation and progress.

Representation Matters: The game addresses disability, social dynamics, and spirituality. Mae’s motor disability shapes her journey, Foyal wrestles with faith, and NPCs reflect diverse cultures, identities, and classes. Many were designed with Kickstarter backers.

Characters That Resonate: The heart of TetherGeist is its people. Players meet NPCs with rich personalities, diverse backgrounds, and meaningful struggles. Relationships, interactions, and choices bring depth to the world, making each encounter memorable.
