[Let’s Talk] Will you be buying more first-party Nintendo Switch 2 games digitally following pricing changes?

Posted on March 28, 2026 by (@NE_Brian) in Let's Talk, Switch 2

Earlier in the week, Nintendo made a somewhat surprising announcement. Moving forward, first-party Nintendo Switch 2 games will be cheaper digitally in places like the US and Canada. So when this goes into effect with Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, that game will be priced $70 and $80 digitally. You can read more about the situation here and here.

Now that the news is out there, are you rethinking your purchasing habits for Nintendo Switch 2? If you’ve been going physical, will the cheaper digital option entice you to buy more games on the eShop? Let us know in the comments.

Highlights from last week’s topic: Games you’ve tried with Nintendo Switch 2’s new Handheld Mode Boost

The boost mode finally got me playing Zelda skyward sword in handheld mode for the first time ever.

I played Doom Eternal, Mario + Rabids Spark of Hope, Ni no kuni 2 and Smash Bros Ultimate. It was an better experience in all the games but it was much more noticiable for me on Doom Eternal and Ni no kuni 2.

Tried Boost mode on ‘Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch.” Very little difference in that instance _ that particular game already looked sharp on Switch 2, for whatever reason. Pretty good game, if you are tolerant of rogue-lite structures that require retries, etc. Tactics game at heart, with some interesting mechanics & lots of lore.

Looking forward to trying lots of other Switch 1 titles in boost, though

The Witcher 3 and Dead Cells both looked noticeably better to me, they’re the only ones I’ve tried so far.
