Hollow Knight – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition announced [update: PEGI rating]

December 15: Team Cherry will be releasing a new Nintendo Switch 2 Edition for the original Hollow Knight, the studio has announced. Fans can expect to see it in 2026. If you have the game on Nintendo Switch, it’ll be a free upgrade.

Hollow Knight – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will contain all the updates and enhancements that Silksong received on the platform. That means it’ll offer high frame-rate modes, higher resolutions, and many additional graphical effects.

February 5: A PEGI rating of Hollow Knight for Nintendo Switch 2 has now surfaced. According to the official PEGI site, the release date is today, February 5, 2026. It may be possible that this Switch 2 Edition will be featured in today’s Nintendo Direct: Partner showcase, and then maybe even be shadow dropped. The upcoming presentation will air at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET / 2 PM in the UK / 3 PM in Europe, and you can watch it here.
