Video: Nintendo Switch 2 Handheld Mode Boost comparison
GVG has put out a video comparison for the new Handheld Mode Boost feature on Nintendo Switch 2 which shows just how much the Switch 1 experience has improved.
The functionality was just released yesterday as part of a new firmware update. When the setting is enabled, your Nintendo Switch 2 system will treat Switch 1 games as if they’re docked while playing portably. That means the resolution will increase for a clearer picture – it’s especially important given that the screen supports 1080p resolution.
A number of games now look significantly better in handheld mode than they did previously. As just one example, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze can now display at 1080p whereas it was previously limited to 600p. Other games like Xenoblade Chronicles 2 also look more clear.
