Metroid Prime 4: Beyond has sold over one million copies, Nintendo has confirmed.

This week, the company reported its latest financial results. Some new games made Nintendo’s latest million sellers, but Metroid Prime 4 was nowhere to be seen. That led to some concerns significantly underperforming. We don’t have an exact number, but we can safely say it’s over one million when combining both versions (Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch).

Nintendo has achieved not one, but two sales milestones today, and now we have news about Switch 2. The console has outsold Wii U in just a matter of months.

In its lifetime, Wii U sold just a total of 13.56 million units. In less than a year, Nintendo Switch 2 has sold a total of 17.37. Wii U was unfortunately a big miss for Nintendo, but it’s clear there’s significant interest for Switch 2 as was the case with its predecessor.

Nintendo Switch outsold DS

Switch just officially took the crown as Nintendo’s best-selling gaming system of all time.

The company reported its financial results moments ago in which we found out that the device is now at 155.37 units sold worldwide. Previously, DS was the record holder for Nintendo at 154.02 million units. So indeed, Nintendo Switch has climbed the mountain – although there’s still technically one obstacle to clear.

SEGA has shared a few words about the sales of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. This comes as part of the company’s latest financial results presentation towards the end of last year, but is making the rounds today.

It was previously announced that the game had sold over one million copies worldwide. Although that’s an important milestone, this isn’t enough for SEGA. Executive Koichi Fukazawa said that the “initial performance did not meet our expectations”. SEGA intends to give the title further support, including additional DLC, to held sell another million copies within the fiscal year.

Fukazawa said:

Mario Kart World
