Ratatan

It’s now official that the Nintendo Switch version of Ratatan has been cancelled.

You may recall that the game was featured in an Indie World Showcase presentation earlier this year. A Nintendo Switch 2 version was announced, but the original Switch version was nowhere to be seen. Now we know what happened.

We’ve got an update on Ratatan, as a Nintendo Switch 2 version is in the piplene. A release date of July 16, 2026 is also secured.

There is no information about the previously-announced Nintendo Switch version. As of now we’re assuming it’s been cancelled unless we hear otherwise.

It’s been a while since we last heard about Ratatan, TVT’s rhythm action/strategy title. Publisher Game Source Entertainment have announced that they have made an agreement with the developer and will be bringing the title to Nintendo Switch next year. Ratatan

Ratata Arts and TVT just opened a new Kickstarter campaign this week for Ratatan, and a Switch version has now been secured.

The upcoming game comes from director Hiroyuki Kotani (Patapon game designer), producer Kazuto Sakajiri (The Eye of Judgment), and composer Kenmei Adachi (Patapon, LocoRoco, Gran Turismo). It’s a rhythm action title in which “the player takes the role of a conductor controlling the actions of a cute army of Ratatan characters.”

The Kickstarter campaign was funded in its first day, and a console stretch goal – which includes Switch – has been surpassed. Over $500,000 has been raised thus far.
