Dispatch

After what’s been a controversial past few days – to say the least – for the Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch versions of Dispatch, developer AdHoc has followed up with a lengthy statement of its own.

We technically already heard from the studio a few days ago, but that was a brief message. Now the team has taken to Discord and provided fans with a big explanation and hope regarding a future update.

Following the news that Dispatch has been censored on both Switch 2 and Switch, Nintendo has issued a statement.

As previously reported, whereas other platforms had optional censorship on other platforms, that isn’t the case now. PS5 and PC included a toggle to turn off a certain toggle for nudity and other adult content, but it’s essentially always on for Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch.

Although there was initially speculation about Dispatch being censored on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch, it’s now confirmed that this is indeed the case.

In the PC and PS5 versions, the game featured a “Visual Censorship” setting. This is gone on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch, so you’re always getting the censored experience. All scenes are in tact, but there are changes – such as nudity being covered up with a black bar.
