Mario Luigi Brothership villain

I’ve talked a lot about Mario & Luigi: Brothership here, and today, we’re continuing that trend with a write-up on one of its best characters. By now, we all know the game suffers from a dire flaw in the form of its horrendously slow pacing, and for me personally, that’s going to prevent me from going back to the game in the future. That’s on top of the fact that its technical performance is severely lacking on the original Nintendo Switch, which becomes especially prevalent during the endgame.

From the way I talk about Brothership, you probably get the impression that I don’t like it very much. So then, why am I still talking about it over a year later? For all of its flaws, I feel like Brothership’s ideas and themes come together in a notably cohesive way at the end of the game – and it makes it extremely memorable, even though the rest of the story runs at a snail’s pace. Part of the reason Brothership’s ending remains so memorable is because of its new villain. Major spoilers within, so be warned!

Class of Heroes 3 Remaster trailer

One last trailer is here for Class of Heroes 3 Remaster. After the game released in 2010, it has now come to Nintendo Switch – and in English for the first time.

Here’s the Nintendo eShop description for the dungeon crawler:

Mario & Luigi: Brothership fixes

November 2024 marked the grand return of the Mario & Luigi series after almost ten whole years without a new game. As someone who’s 100 percent completed the game (and spent well over 60 hours doing so), this is an incredibly polarizing RPG. On one hand, the visual style is excellent – the characters are expressive, the core gameplay of the series remains mostly intact, and the story, while nothing groundbreaking, is solid. On the other hand, Brothership is held back by its awful pacing, disappointing technical performance, and a large amount of filler content between its main story beats.

Fifteen years down the line, I’m not sure that Nintendo could actually fix any of Mario & Luigi: Brothership’s biggest problems via a traditional remake. Many of its greatest issues are baked into its story and presentation in such a way that it would require significant retooling of plot points and gameplay. But today, we’re going to go over a list of changes that would help cement Mario & Luigi: Brothership as the best entry in the series. We’re not banking on these changes ever being implemented, but it’s fun nonetheless. Do keep in mind that we’ll be discussing spoilers, so you might want to bookmark this post and come back later if you’re still trying to avoid them.

Mario & Luigi Brothership 1.0.1 update

Nintendo just released a new version 1.0.1 update for Mario & Luigi: Brothership.

The patch comes at an interesting time. The game has been out since November, but we’re just now getting this update. Still, it’s one you’ll want to install if you’re playing. While it doesn’t include new content, a handful of bugs have been fixed.

The full rundown is as follows:

Mario & Luigi Brothership name

December 5: The Mario & Luigi: Brothership name has been well-received by fans, but it seems that it wasn’t an easy process to get there.

Associate producer Tomoki Fukushima and producer Akira Otani spoke about this in a new interview published today. It turns out that Nintendo and Acquire brainstormed over 100 possible names for Mario & Luigi: Brothership. Also shared is that both the west and Japan are using the same title for the first time.
