System Shock 2.1 update out now, big Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch improvements

Nightdive Studios has just come out with a new version 2.1 update for System Shocks, which brings performance, content, and feature parity across all versions. including big improvements for Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch.

The team says that “performance has been significantly improved” on both platforms. There are also stability and visual improvements.

On Nintendo Switch, System Shock runs at up to 900p docked and up to 720p handheld, both with dynamic resolution and with a 30FPS performance target. The Nintendo Switch 2 version boosts things at to 1440p at 60FPS when docked and 1080p at 60FPS when handheld.

Nightdive Studios producer Justin Khan said today: “System Shock Version 2.1, the ‘Parity Patch,’ marks nearly ten years since the System Shock Remake project began. This patch represents countless lessons learned, the dedication of a small but determined team, and our commitment to refining the experience across every platform. Thank you for sticking with us through the ups and downs of that journey.”
