Pokemon releases special video for 30th anniversary

As it’s now February 27 in Japan, Pokemon is officially 30 years old. To celebrate the anniversary, a special video juts went out.

The video takes fans through all of the different generations with looks at various creatures and unique logos made for each one. Many fan favorites get a brief spotlight throughout.

Pokemon initially released with Red and Green versions in 1996, with a Blue version dropping later that year. The series would later debut in the west as Pokemon Red and Blue in 1998.

This is only the beginning of the Pokemon anniversary festivities. Pokemon Presents will be held tomorrow, and it’s expected that the next generation of games will be revealed.
