Mario Kart Tour rating raised to 18+ in Brazil
Over in Brazil, Mario Kart Tour has received a rating change with the game moving up to 18+. This essentially means that it’s not recommended for those below that age.
This is one of the highest classifications possible in the country. Nintendo hasn’t shared information about this officially, but some are speculating that gambling and loot boxes are to blame.
The Brazilian government is looking to crack down on games marketed to a younger demographic that make use of that style of play. Previously, Mario Kart Tour was banned in Belgium. As of now it’s unclear if any other countries will follow with changes.
Mario Kart Tour is available on mobile via iOS and Android. Last summer, the game had a collaboration with Mario Kart World which saw it receive something new for the first time in years.
