The SNES game Ken Griffey Jr.’s Winning Run has been around for three decades, but one player has now discovered new codes to access secret teams. Credit goes to TakuikaNinja for this one.

In the game, players typically unlock hidden teams by winning an MLB season. Players can then further access a Hidden Games menu option with the input A, B, X, Y, Up, Down, Select on the title screen.

Now with these new codes, you can play as the hidden teams without any save data prerequisites or cheat devices. As relayed by The Cutting Room Floor, you’ll need to do the following:

  1. Set up a 2P or exhibition match.
  2. On the pre-match screen with the team logos displayed over the batting view, hold either the L or R shoulder button while inputting a specific code.
  3. The game should play a sound, do a fade transition and then switch to the hidden team.
  4. Repeat for controller 2 as desired.
  5. Play ball!

As for the codes in question, they are as follows:

  • Tampa Bay Devil Rays – X, X, X, Select
  • Arizona Diamondbacks – A, A, A, Select
  • Nintendo – B, B, B, Select
  • Nintendo – 64 Y, Y, Y, Select

The Nintendo and N64 teams are particularly noteworthy. With the Nintendo team (NOA), it has players such as Minoru Arakawa, who was the president of Nintendo of America. Meanwhile, the entire N64 roster is made up of Rareware developers at the time.
