Hudson offering some free DLC for Alien Crush Returns

DLC is great and all, but doesn’t it kind of stink that you have to pay for new content, even if the content is the most minuscule upgrade? Well, Hudson is doing a great service to Alien Crush Returns owners. As of now, there’s some free downloadable content up for grabs which involves new action motions. When Alien Crush Returns boots up and you allow the game to connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi, the game will search for any current downloads, which includes actions such as an explosive pinball as of now. Not all DLC is expected to be free, but it’s nice to know that Hudson isn’t try to rob Alien Crush Returns owners of every penny they have.

Mega Man 9 hitting WiiWare next week
Posted on 17 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 1 Comment
Capcom has confirmed that Mega Man 9 will be available next week on the Wii Shop Channel. As far as the release of the game on other download networks, Mega Man 9 will be up on PSN September 25th while XBLA users will have to wait until October 1st. Unfortunately, these dates are for North America only. I’d assume that the game will be heading to other territories in due time, though.
de Blob could end up on other platforms

“It’s definitely something that we have been thinking about. We always want to keep the game fresh, so the ideas that we’ve got for taking it to other platforms…it’ll be a very different experience from what you’re seeing on Wii. If we are going to be taking it to another platform, we’d be looking at a very different experience, and of course using the massive power that a next gen platform could offer.” – Nick Hagger, de Blob producer
If there is an actual advantage of putting out de Blob on other platforms, I don’t personally have a problem with it. I do think it would be a big blow to the Wii since it’s a big third-party title, but my motto is that if it will work well somewhere else, why not share the wealth? However, it seems that the Wii controller is a perfect fit for de Blob. Would the controls of a PS3/360 version of the game be beneficial?

The Many Unexpected Twists And Turns of Fate In The World Of Dokapon Kingdom

Learn more about random events and occurrences in the upcoming party RPG!
September 18, 2008 – In Dokapon Kingdom, the upcoming party RPG for Wii™ and PlayStation®2, players will find a bevy of unanticipated twists on their way to raking in the most gold, capturing the most towns, saving the kingdom, and winning the hand of the princess in holy matrimony. Below is a description of some of those sudden and at times undesirable events, along with some accompanying visuals, just to really hammer it home:
Like many traditional board games, players in Dokapon Kingdom take turns with a spinner to determine how many spaces they will be able to move. There are a wide variety of different spaces to land on, such as item/spell roulette wheels, bank spaces that allow for investment and tax collection from possessed towns, weapon/item/magic shops, and in addition to a large list of other spaces, there also happen to be the plain, bland yellow spaces.
In most games, these empty spaces are merely filler for the experience. In Dokapon Kingdom, very often they are the heart of the matter. Yellow spaces are where most player-versus-player engagements will occur, and the areas in which players will be doing work to strengthen and improve their characters. They’re also the only spaces in the entire grand world of Dokapon where random events can occur.
High Voltage Software announces contest for controller mappings in The Conduit
Posted on 17 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 0 comments
Hoffman Estates, IL – September 17, 2008 – High Voltage Software, Inc., one of the world’s largest independent video game developers, officially announced today that they are accepting fan-created control mappings for their first-person action shooter, The Conduit. The game will debut exclusively for the Nintendo® Wii™ in the first quarter of 2009.
The idea started as a simple conversation within the development team. The team’s Lead Programmer, Ed Federmeyer, suggested the idea of letting gamers themselves offer up some other possibilities and then take the best to build into the game as extra preset controller configurations.
“Given how flexible our control scheme code is, and how we’re going to have several preset mappings to choose from…” said Federmeyer, “Wouldn’t it be a cool contest to allow gamers to propose schemes and we can take the best and burn them into the game as additional preset control mappings?”
