Warner Bros. Interactive and developer NetherRealm Studios still have some characters to reveal for Injustice: Gods Among Us. A date for an announcement hasn’t been confirmed, but Ed Boon told one fan on Twitter: “We are working on it.”

Injustice: Gods Among Us won’t be out until April, so there’s likely more than one character to reveal before the game ships.

Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia has offered some insight into sales of the Wii U. Agee noted that GameStop sales this holiday fell below expectations in terms of both hardware and software. Available stock at the retailer is apparently “abundant.”

It should come as no surprise that the Wii U Deluxe Set is outperforming the Basic model. Thanks to the “better value” provided by the Deluxe Set, consumers have been more than willing to shell out the extra $50.

Discussing Wii U software specifically, Bhatia said the attach rate at GameStop is “low”.

Bhatia wrapped up with the following comment:

“Our conclusion is the Nintendo Wii U launch has been slightly disappointing.”

007 Legends hit North American store shelves on December 11. European Wii U owners, however, are still waiting for its arrival.

Right now 007 is without an official, final European release date. When asked about the game’s launch, an Activision representative said it’s coming “later this year, TBC”.

This week’s GameStop deals are as follows:

Following the announcement of Pikmin 3 at last year’s E3, Shigeru Miyamoto said he wasn’t a huge fan of ditching the timer in Pikmin 2. He hinted that he was pushing for the mechanic’s return with the Wii U game.

In an interview with GamesMaster, Miyamoto once again stated that he wasn’t too big on the idea of removing the timed functionality.

When asked if the Pikmin 3 team had to make some important decisions about the direction of the series prior to development, Miyamoto said:

Are these screenshots from the Wii U version of Need for Speed: Most Wanted? Maybe, maybe not.

You know what’s odd? Receiving details about a western game through Japanese sources. EA has announced the Wii U version of Need for Speed: Most Wanted for Japan, confirming a release date and bringing out a bit of information.

Most Wanted will be able to display menu content directly on the Wii U GamePad. It will also fully support Off-TV Play so that players can experience the entire game on the controller.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted Wii U is hitting Japan on March 14 for 6,615 yen. Oddly enough, we’re still waiting for launch date details overseas.

Capcom has announced one game for Wii U thus far: Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. The company has other titles in store for the console, but don’t expect late ports. That means the chances of seeing the likes of Resident Evil 6 and Lost Planet 3 on Wii U aren’t too high.

Capcom’s Christian Svensson said the following when asked about older ports for Wii U:

“With regard to WiiU, in general we’re looking forward, not back so late ports are generally not on the table.”
