Drop, a new indie action game, has a shot of coming to Nintendo platforms. A Wii U version will be created if Kickstarter funds hit $220,000. A 3DS version is further away at $310,000.
Now, what about the actual goal? That comes in at $85,000 CAD. The campaign will have until October 9 to reach that target.
You can find details about Drop over at the Kickstarter page here.
Mighty Switch Force! 2 is coming to Wii U thanks to fan feedback, will look a bit different

Mighty Switch Force! 2 wasn’t always planned for Wii U. WayForward’s James Montagna told Siliconera that the Wii U version came about due to fan feedback.
Montagna said:
“On Miiverse, the Mighty Switch Force community has been very vocal about bringing Mighty Switch Force 2 to the Wii U. We had no intentions of bringing it to the Wii U, originally. [Mighty Switch Force: Hyperdrive Edition] was an experiment, something we just wanted to try out—but [because of feedback] we are bringing Mighty Switch Force 2 to the Wii U. We caved.”
Interestingly, it sounds like Mighty Switch Force! 2 will adopt a unique style on Wii U. According to Montagna, ” it won’t be quite like Hyperdrive Edition”.
“It’s a pixel version of the game with high-definition interstitial screens, so it won’t be quite like Hyperdrive Edition or anything like that.”
Mighty Switch Force! is tentatively scheduled to arrive on Nintendo’s console in October.
Mighty No. 9 receives new stretch goals, handheld versions still possible
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 8 Comments

Mighty No. 9’s Kickstarter campaign has been updated with several new stretch goals.
The next closest target is the boss rush mode at $2 million. Wii U, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 versions still stand at $2.2 million, followed by a challenge mode at $2.4 million, extra end stage and boss at $2.55 million, beck & call online co-op challenge mode at $2.75 million, and PlayStation 4/Xbox One versions at $3.3 million.
3DS and PlayStation Vita versions are still absent from Mighty No. 9’s Kickstarter. However, they’re still very much in consideration. Even if they aren’t added as stretch goals, a release on handhelds could still be made a reality through “other” means.
Handhelds are still a possibility! Just because you don’t see them in this next set of goals doesn’t mean we aren’t working on this. : ) We know many of you have been asking about the possibility of Vita and 3DS versions of Mighty No. 9, so now we know the desire is most definitely there — what’s left is to figure out if the money and production realities can make this possible. We wish we could say more at this point, but we can say this: There might be other ways to make this happen (besides stretch goals) that we are currently investigating. (Or maybe it will end up being a later stretch goal after all?)

Nicalis says it has “a lot” planned for Wii U, more for 3DS, will always support Nintendo

Late last month, Nicalis announced that it had cancelled Yatagarasu for the 3DS in favor of a PS Vita version. That news wasn’t exactly well-received by Nintendo fans.
Some questioned Nicalis’ decision on Twitter, but the studio promised that more games are on the way to the 3DS as well as Wii U. The company also said that it “always” intends to support Nintendo systems. In one particular tweet, Nicalis appeared to tease two more 3DS titles in the form of asterisks.

WayForward has shown an updated character design for Shantae in Half-Genie Hero. Take a look below:

WayForward notes on Kickstarter the art is still a work in progress. Worth mentioning, the studio’s engine allows for an “additive lighting” effect, “which can make her look cool & luminous by night, or warm & vibrant by day.”
Nifflas and KnapNok’s new Wii U game inspired by Steel Battalion
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 0 comments
Nicklas Nygren of Nifflas fame has talked a tiny bit more about his upcoming Wii U title with KnapNok Games.
According to Nygren, the project takes some inspiration from Steel Battalion.
Nygren teased:
“I shouldn’t reveal too much without Knapnok’s permission, but so the reason it is for the Wii U is uhmm… *thinks* Actually, when I heard about the Wii U for the first time, the fact that it would have a separate touchscreen built-in with the controller I got quite excited. Because you know… Okay, you know the old game Steel Battalion for I think the first Xbox? This came with this huge controller, which was designed just because for that specific game. I guess it is kind of tricky to sell something like that, since you need to sell the hardware. The game essentially makes… wouldn’t be able to play without having these buttons and stuff. I guess what the Wii U did by having a separate touchscreen and a controller at the same time, was that it opened up for a new like… I would say for that kind of game, where you can have more an advanced control system and menu. At the same time, it doesn’t have to clutter what’s happening in the game with a lot of elements that pop up on the screen. I started to think about what kind of games would be really excellent with this kind of hardware and what would work specifically well for the Wii U and we came up with this idea.”
