Aperion Cyberstorm is going to support a whole bunch of controllers. The Wii Balance Board might be the only exception, which I don’t believe players will be displeased about!

Speaking with Nintendo Life, developer aPriori Digital went over the different control options included in Aperion Cyberstorm. One of these is simply using the Wii Remote for “something like a golf grip.”

Here’s the full explanation from aPriori:

Regarding controllers, we’ve tried to support every official option as far as possible — sorry, no balance board…

As we said last year, the game will support a Wii Remote without an attached Nunchuk. We figured there are a lot lying around or cheap to buy, so getting five players together should be simpler than other options. When we got down to it, we realised the logistics of mapping a twin stick shooter to that device.

Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty is still on track to arrive on the Wii U eShop. And based on a comment from the series’ Twitter account, it may not be much longer before the game is ready to launch. The developer said it’s “literally in the final steps” on Nintendo’s console.

Here’s the full tweet:

It’s been a long wait for Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty on Wii U, but the journey is finally over. Let’s hope an official release date is confirmed sooner rather than later.

You may remember Rynn’s Adventure: Trouble in the Enchanted Forest, an indie platformer we brought up last April. It was planned for launch in Fall 2015 at the time, but those plans changed as we all now know.

Development on Rynn’s Adventure: Trouble in the Enchanted Forest is now complete. At the moment, Arcane Four Studios is working on certification to bring it to Wii U and Xbox One. The 3DS version will follow at a later date.

Minecraft: Story Mode – Episode 1 will be available via the Wii U eShop on January 21, Telltale Games has announced. Pricing is set at $4.99. There will soon be a season pass ($19.99) for the remaining four episodes as well.

Telltale Games is including off-TV play in Minecraft: Story Mode. Additionally, it will support touch-control options that allow players to use the joysticks and buttons or simply tap and guide the story directly on the screen at any time.

Nintendo of America’s VP of Publisher & Developer Relations Steve Singer said of today’s news:

“Telltale Games is synonymous with quality gaming and compelling content. We are thrilled that Nintendo fans will have the opportunity to experience this first-hand with the debut of ‘Minecraft: Story Mode’ on Wii U.”

Kevin Bruner, CEO and co-founder of Telltale Games, also chimed in with the following:

“Working with Nintendo, we’re tremendously excited to be bringing our unique style of storytelling to Wii U for the first time, and we couldn’t be happier to be kicking things off with a series like ‘Minecraft: Story Mode’ that allows players of all ages to craft their own adventure across the Minecraft universe.”
