In a new report, Bloomberg claims that Nintendo is planning to lowered their output of the Switch 2 due to weak sales in the United States. The company had originally planned to produce six million systems for this quarter, but now they are looking to make six million, with the reduced output rate set to continue in April.

Back in November, Bloomberg had reported that Nintendo was preparing to supply over 20 million units within the console’s first year on the market. Nintendo Switch 2 had a record breaking launch with high optimism for the console, until reports of slow sales started appearing after launch, and even into the holiday season. Even then, the system managed to sell 17.37 million units by December 31, 2025.
