List of all Nintendo Switch demos
Posted on 5 hours ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Guides, Switch | 0 comments
Thousands of games are currently available on Nintendo Switch, and there are a ton of demos out there for many of them. Not just Nintendo, but also third-parties are offering demos. We’ve now put together a comprehensive list of what’s out there.
Since our reader base is English-speaking, that’s what we’re focusing on here. In other words, we’re highlighting Switch demos that you can find in North America and Europe. Japan has a few extra demos on its end, but a majority of them are for titles that are not currently being sold in the west and are only playable in Japanese.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s ninth season of ranked battles has begun, and it completely bans Legendary and Mythical Pokemon. Order has been restored! And, more importantly, if you happen to be going for the dreaded Consummate Gamer title achievement, this is the season to do it – the power level is now much lower, and the top Pokemon all have defined checks and counters. Whether you are or aren’t going for Consummate Gamer, today we’re going over all of the top Pokemon you can use on your team to get some wins.

The best Pokemon in Legends Z-A’s Season 8 Ranked Battles
Posted on 3 weeks ago by Ethan Gnau in Guides, Switch, Switch 2 | 0 comments
It feels like we say this every time a new season comes around, but Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s ranked battle season 8 is probably the worst one yet – but for real this time. Not necessarily because a small group of Pokemon overpowers the rest (that is the case here to an extent), but because your choices are extremely limited. Not only are you restricted to using Pokemon that got Mega Evolutions in Pokemon Legends: Z-A (which means no Mega Evolutions from X, Y, Omega Ruby, or Alpha Sapphire), but they cannot be entered unless they’re holding their Mega Stone. This means you can’t run Focus Sash at all, which means if you’re going for the Consummate Gamer bonus, you have no protection against one-hit KO moves. At any rate, given how small the selection of Pokemon is here, it makes sense that there are a few that tower above the others.

Best Pokemon in Legends Z-A’s Season 7 Ranked Battles
Posted on 1 month ago by Ethan Gnau in Guides, Switch, Switch 2 | 0 comments
We’re back again with another list of the best Pokemon in the current season of Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s ranked battles, this time for season 7. Unfortunately, this season is almost certainly the worst one yet.
This time around, you can use two restricted Legendary Pokemon on your team of three, and you can use as many Mythical Pokemon as you want. In previous seasons, there was a triangle of top Pokemon – you had Garchomp at the very top, Glaceon to counter it, and Steel-types to dispatch Glaceon as well as Fairy-types. In season 7, though, it’s all legendary spam. Every team is using two Legendary Pokemon, which means the power charts are through the roof. If you’re trying to go for the Consummate Gamer title, this season is nigh unviable because almost everything is going to KO you in a single hit.

Best Pokemon in Legends Z-A’s Season 5 Ranked Battles
Posted on 2 months ago by Ethan Gnau in Guides, Switch, Switch 2 | 0 comments
A few weeks ago, we reported on the best Pokemon to use in Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s Season 4 Ranked Battles. For the most part, every Pokemon we listed there is still perfectly viable in Season 5. This time around, though, Season 5 allows both sub-Legendary Pokemon and Mythical Pokemon. Which means you’re going to see a lot of Magearna and Melmetal running around. They’re now some of the strongest Pokemon in the metagame, and today we’re going over some movesets you can expect to see on each of them.

The best characters in Kirby Air Riders’ City Trial
Posted on 2 months ago by Ethan Gnau in Guides, Switch 2 | 0 comments
For those playing Kirby Air Riders, we’re going over the best characters in the game’s City Trial.
In many ways, Kirby Air Riders is a racing game. But in just as many ways, it kind of isn’t – City Trial is arguably its premier game mode, and it’s more about combat and collecting than it is racing. If you’ve never played this mode before, you’re tasked with exploring Skyah, a City Trial-unique location, and gathering stat boosts to power up for the final battle. The final battle in question is different each game, and you can pick from a selection of four based on your currently equipped machine and its upgrades. As is the case with all competitive games, some characters are better than others. And as you might expect, the best rider for City Trial may just be a certain masked knight.

Best Pokemon in Legends Z-A’s Season 4 ranked battles
Posted on 3 months ago by Ethan Gnau in Guides, Switch 2 | 0 comments
Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s online metagame has changed quite a bit now that the Mega Dimension DLC has arrived. And at the time of writing, Season 4 of Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s ranked battles ends on January 7. Season 5 will allow sub-Legendary Pokemon and Mythical Pokemon for the first time, which means the Swords of Justice and Magearna will be allowed. Thankfully, almost all of the Pokemon on this list will still be viable in Season 5 – the best Pokemon in the game tend to run Earthquake as a coverage move, which will hit Magearna, Volcanion, and Melmetal for super-effective damage. You can also expect Magearna and Melmetal to become some of the strongest Pokemon in the game as soon as they’re allowed in. For now, though, here are powerful Pokemon you can prepare for both Season 4 and Season 5.

How to Shiny hunt in Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s Mega Dimension DLC
Posted on 3 months ago by Ethan Gnau in Guides, Switch, Switch 2 | 0 comments
For those playing the new Mega Dimension DLC for Pokemon Legends: Z-A, we have a new guide going over how to Shiny hunt.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s base game was a little bit infamous among Shiny hunters – to this day, there’s actually no way to increase your Shiny odds other than the Shiny Charm. In previous titles like Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you could use mass outbreaks or the Masuda Method to make Shiny Pokemon easier to find or hatch. But in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, you were stuck with 1 in 1,365 odds if you had the Shiny Charm. Sure, you could soft reset or sit at benches over and over again, but that wouldn’t actually increase your odds. Fortunately for Shiny hunters, Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s Mega Dimension DLC makes Shiny hunting much, much easier. Many of the same techniques in the base game apply here, but more importantly, Pokemon spawn in bigger groups in Hyperspace Lumiose, which means there’s a bigger chance for one of them to be Shiny. Furthermore, you can also make donuts that give you Sparkling Power. With Sparkling Power 3 and the Shiny Charm active, your odds increase to roughly 1 in 585.

Rogue Mega Rush strategy guide for Pokemon Legends: Z-A
Posted on 3 months ago by Ethan Gnau in Guides, Switch, Switch 2 | 0 comments
Rogue Mega Rush is a strong candidate for the toughest challenge in any Pokemon game. After you’ve completed Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s base game, its DLC story, and its postgame, you’ll unlock the ability to take on the Rogue Mega Rush challenge at Quasartico’s headquarters. For this challenge, you’ll have to defeat all 27 Rogue Mega Evolutions with the same team, a total of 3 full team heals, no items, and no breaks. Needless to say, that makes this pretty tough! Chances are, your in-game team is not even going to come close to cutting it. You’ll need a great deal of resources to construct a Rogue Mega Rush team, but the challenge can be made easier thanks to Annihilape and its ghostly fists. Since this is a boss rush of all of Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s bosses, there are spoilers within, so be warned.

How to catch Kyogre in Pokemon Legends: Z-A
Posted on 3 months ago by Ethan Gnau in Guides, Switch, Switch 2 | 0 comments
Groudon and Kyogre are both available as part of the story in Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s Mega Dimension DLC. You’ll have to clear the main story’s final boss in order to do so, and then you’ll be able to take on Groudon and Kyogre afterward. Of course, this entails earning enough Hyperspace Survey points to advance the story. Once you’ve done that, Corbeau will come up with a new donut recipe – we have the perfect recipe here, in case you don’t want to mess around with different berry combinations.
