Shikhondo: Blue Pieta announced for Nintendo Switch 2, Switch
CFK and DeerFarm today unveiled Shikhondo: Blue Pieta for both Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch. A release window was not provided for these platforms.
Shikhondo: Blue Pieta is the next entry in the Eastern fantasy bullet hell series. This time around, it’s side-scrolling for the first time.
Here’s what we know so far:
An Eastern grim reaper crosses the ocean following the trail of an unknown yokai. In a city far from home, she runs into a vampire hunter who’s been fighting alone in the dark for years. When the two meet, a new conflict begins.
Shikhondo: Blue Pieta marks a series first — the franchise makes the jump from vertical-scrolling to side-scrolling, bringing a fresh perspective to the hallmark bullet hell gameplay fans know. The Soul Collect system returns in evolved form: graze enemy bullets to charge the gauge, trigger it to convert bullets into score pickups and double your multiplier. High risk. High reward.
Key Features
- Side-scrolling bullet hell – a series first, new perspective on the Shikhondo formula
- Soul Collect System – graze bullets to fill your gauge, trigger for score multipliers
- Full voice acting planned – cast details to be announced
- Ultra-wide support – up to 32:9 resolution
- Multiple game modes – Arcade, Hardcore, Boss Rush, and more
We have this joint statement from CFK and DeerFarm: “Shikhondo is the culmination of everything DeerFarm has built – their craft, their passion, their dedication. Shikhondo: Blue Pieta takes the series in a bold new direction, from the side-scrolling format to everything else packed into it. We can’t wait for fans around the world to experience it.”
