Curveball Games is teaming up with publisher Top Hat Studios and Australian developer Weatherfell to give Windswept a physical release on Nintendo Switch, the company announced today. Fans will be able to secure a copy in Q2 2026.

Windswept will only be sold as a standard version. There are no plans for any special editions currently.

Windswept, a wind-powered platformer, debuted on the Nintendo eShop last November. Below is an official overview:

Windswept is a love letter to a time when collectathon platformers reigned supreme, trying again was the norm, and players only had a game manual to guide them.

Join Marbles the Duck and Checkers the Turtle as they set out on a journey home fraught with danger, discovery, and plenty of surprises. Each character comes with their own unique abilities to help navigate the world, and players will need to mix ’n’ match their skills to overcome the obstacles in their path.

Making your way home won’t always be smooth sailing, you’ll need to experiment, adapt, and keep trying until things finally click. And for those who find it a walk in the park, there’s no shortage of hidden challenges ready to stir things up.

Key Features

  • Over 40 handcrafted stages filled with hidden collectibles, bonus challenges, and quirky obstacles to overcome… or fall victim to.
  • Leader swapping gameplay – change who leads the adventure to unlock entirely new actions and strategies.
  • Experiment and discover – there’s no single right way to play. Combine abilities, techniques, and movement to suit your own style.
  • Unique character abilities – Marbles and Checkers each bring something different to the table, and mastering both is key to conquering specialised challenges.
  • Couch co-op support – jump in solo or grab a friend and tackle the wilds together in local co-op play.

We have a trailer for Windswept here for those interested in getting a closer look.
